TURF WARS III

YOU ASKED FOR IT - YOU GOT IT! TURF WARS 3 AT MEADOW BROOK!

Exciting series pits some of best from USA and Canada

Donofrio Entertainment keeps on rolling, and the other promoters in Michigan have the tire marks on their backs to prove it! The next stop for the Donofrio express is scheduled for Saturday, September 18 at 7 PM, at the beautiful Meadow Brook Music Festival, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills. On that date, and by popular demand, TURF WARS 3 will be contested between teams representing the USA and Canada, and as always, will be under the auspices of Impact Fight League, which operates as a championship sanctioning organization dedicated to finding and honoring the best that mixed martial arts has to offer, in the Great Lakes region and beyond.

If you haven't seen team action, you are in for something that is super-charged, because many of the U.S. fighters are locals, and bring their own legion of fans, while others make the short trek over the border from Ontario to lend their support to the Canadian warriors. No matter the location, there are no "gimme" bouts for the hometown guys because Donofrio, a veteran of years and years in the promotion of both mixed martial arts and boxing in the Detroit area, won't hear of it.

"You better come to fight when you fight for me," says Donofrio. "We cater to the fans here more than anything else, and no one wants to see fights where the outcomes are predictable."

If you haven't seen a show at Meadow Brook, you owe it to yourself to get there. With 2800 covered seats and 5000 more in "festival-style" lawn seating, it's a venue that also serves as the summer home of the Detroit Symphony, as well as numerous concerts, stage productions and other forms of live entertainment. Mixed martial arts generally brings the most avid and vociferous followers.

Last year's fall show there drew a crowd of almost four thousand fans, overflowing into the grass area of festival seating, and the evening was documented by TVS Communications Solutions for the reality television show, "Fight Boss." One of the guests in attendance that night was former three-time boxing champion Hector "Macho" Camacho. Who will Donofrio bring for the fans to meet this time around? That's a subject of speculation before every Donofrio Entertainment show. One thing for sure is that the venue is a star in itself; the Meadow Brook Music Festival facility presents an absolutely unique setting - open-air, yet intimate - to enjoy any event, and the atmosphere for mixed martial arts is positively terrific.

Tickets are available at The Palace box office, the Meadow Brook box office, PalaceNet.com and at all TicketMaster outlets. You may call by phone at 248-645-6666. A limited amount of VIP Reserved Cageside tables are available - call 248-770-6000. Please note that this VIP package is the most inclusive you'll find anywhere. It includes: private parking, private entrance, private bar, exclusive seating on the stage, All Access credentials, full access to all fighters and staff members, photo opportunities with fighters and much more! Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the first bout scheduled for 7 PM.

"PREPARE FOR IMPACT" ON MAY 8 AT THE PALACE

Pro bouts, Impact Fight League title, Jackie Kallen, and special news all on tap

DONOFRIO ENTERTAINMENT, in association with IMPACT FIGHT LEAGUE, moves into spring with another spectacular MMA fight card slated for Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the world-famous PALACE OF AUBURN HILLS. The organization also moves full-speed ahead into professional fight action.

Mixed martial arts lovers should "PREPARE FOR IMPACT." The aptly-titled show features a full menu of pro and amateur fights, and once again, an Impact Fight League championship is going to be on the line.

Joseph Donofrio is ready to take on all comers where promoting mixed martial arts in the Motor City is concerned. He walks the walk, and the record shows it, as he has registered the third highest attendance of all the MMA clubs in the United States.

As has become the custom, Donofrio is bringing along a special guest; this time it's the first lady of the Sweet Science - Detroiter JACKIE KALLEN - and the duo will be making an important announcement about the future of combat sports in the Detroit area at a press conference set for Friday.

"You'll want to pay attention to this one," said Donofrio. "We're going to blow everyone away with this."

The May 8 main event will be contested for the Impact Fight League world middleweight title, as Brendan Seguin of Detroit, known far and wide as "The Caucasian Devastation," battles Marcus "The Dragon" Reynolds.

The 33-year-old Seguin has chased down opponents all over the country. He traveled to Minneapolis for his last fight, as he pounded out a decision win over Isaiah Larson. When he's not fighting, he trains students as the co-owner and president of the Eastside Combat Club. Reynolds is on a three-fight winning streak, with a second-round TKO of Brad Harris last time out in Columbus, Ohio.

Also in action will be a bout between middleweights Sean "The Undertaker" Baker and Jason Davis; veteran lightweight Jake Short against Jason Holmes, and hard-hitting heavyweights Todd Allie and Joe Battaglia. In all, there will be eleven professional fights, as well as three in the amateur ranks. Fighters from the entire Great Lakes region and Canada will be on hand, as they are for all Donofrio Entertainment events at the Palace.

Kallen has most famously been the manager of former world champion middleweight, light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion James Toney, and she also helped guide Bronco McKart to the WBO junior middleweight crown. Her experiences in navigating her way through the largely chauvinistic world of boxing were depicted in the feature film "Against the Ropes," with Meg Ryan playing the part of Jackie. Recently she has served as a consultant to the boxing reality show "The Contender" and numerous other projects.

Donofrio has his own reality TV project. It's "Fight Boss," a look inside the nuts and bolts of an MMA promotion, produced by TVS Communications. Cameras will be omnipresent on Saturday taping scenes for the series.

Tickets for the May 8 show are priced at $15, $25, $35 and $50, and are available at Palacenet.com, The Palace Box office, and all TicketMaster outlets, or by phone at 1-800-745-3000. The action starts at 7 PM, with doors opening at 5:30 PM.

Special note - As usual, cageside private VIP seats will be available, and the all-inclusive package that accompanies them is absolutely breath-taking. Call 248-770-6000 for information on getting closer to the action than you could ever dream possible without getting caught in a guillotine choke!
