UNDEFEATED SHAW TO FACE TOUGH VETERAN SMITH IN MAIN EVENT OF "FIGHT NIGHT AT THE JOE" IFL 65 AT JOE LOUIS ARENA IN DETROIT

Coach James Gray, of Brighton, Michigan’s Scorpion Fighting System, wanted his undefeated protégé, Josh Shaw (7-0) to have a tougher MMA fight than he’s had so far in his undefeated career and it looks like he’s found it.

Shaw will face Indiana’s Aaron Smith (33-13) for the IFL Super Lightweight Championship on Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m., in the five-round main event of Donofrio MMA and The Impact Fight League’s "Fight Night at the Joe" IFL 65 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

The pair headline a stacked night of full-contact Mixed Martial Arts action being put on by the Midwest's premier Mixed Martial Arts promoter, Donofrio MMA, that will feature explosive, hard hitting bouts between the Midwest's fiercest male and female cage warriors in several IFL championship fights.

In the night’s five-round co-main event, Tabatha Ann Watkins, also from Scorpion Fighting Systems, will face the formidable Chelsea Faulder of Piqua, Ohio, for the IFL Female Straw Weight Championship.

“I am proud to be returning to the iconic Joe Louis Arena for this fantastic event,” said Joseph Donofrio. “There will be so many great fights that night and the Joe is always a great atmosphere for combat sports. I’d like to thank the staff at Joe Louis and my staff, especially matchmaker Anne Morrell for helping put this together. I look forward to another sensational night of heart-stopping MMA action.”
